Meow

So.. I got a kitten. Her name is Tate (not by my choosing). I wanted to name her Chloe, but I was in good mood and chose to relinquish my naming power to Adam. He chose Tate. Fantastic. She meows all the time, but besides that she is precious! She got a little carried away with the "biting" yesterday and bit a hole in my finger... literally a hole. I bled. It hurts ad I am typing right now.

My parents are coming to town this weekend and I am pretty excited. We are going to do all the wonderful things KC has to offer. Gambling "boats," Royals Game, Piano Bars, The Plaza... the whole nine yards. I am just excited to see them and show them the city that I am growing to love!! We will probably have to keep the "trendy" locations to a minimum seeing as how Adam and my parents will be joining... probably no Westport nightlife (Maybe a piano bar down there) but definitely not the power and light district. Bummer. Adam can pretend, my parents can't.

Adam made pan fried chicken last night. If I wasn't already dating him, I would have started then. SO GOOD. He fried it in butter flavored Crisco. Can you say, "Heart Attack." I didn't even care though. It was delicious!!!!

I have begun the process of acquiring a taste for beer. Boulevard Wheat. A little lemon and you are good to go! I am excited about this newfound liking. I can be normal now. :)

For Brad

In an attempt to remain "tech saavy" and please Brad, I am going to make my second post.

I went home this weekend to see the fam for father's day. I didn't even realize how much I missed my family until I was forced to leave to return to KC. I didn't even get to see my dad that much because there have been so many storms in Altus that he has been working, literally, non-stop. I feel really bad for him... Saturday he got off at 7 and showered so we could go eat, but a storm came through during that time and as soon as he was done showering, it was off to work again. Are you kidding?! He at least got Sunday off (seeing that is was father's day) and I got to have lunch with him before I left... at Applebees. Eeew. (Don't forget I am from Altus and there is not much selection on a holiday sunday)

Yesterday was the first day in months that I craved a good workout... and did I go? NO. How pathetic. I was pretty inspired after looking at swimsuit pictures from Miss Oklahoma... maybe today I will make it to the gym.

I killed the fruit fly... finally. Yes there has been a fruit fly flying (alliteration) at my desk for about 10 minutes. I caught it in my hand like a ninja (simile) and smashed it. Maybe it is all the Hostess 100 calorie packs that I have been eating? A perk of having Hostess as a client... or not. I guess if I ever get fleas, I am set as well. Yay.

First Timer

After reading Brad and Maddie's blogs, I have decided to start my own to keep track of my summer and all of the experiences I am going to encounter.  I am starting my second week of interning at Bernstein Rein in Kansas City and I love it!  This week has been a little more challenging than the last due to the projects that are rolling in.  It seems as though people are starting to realize they have interns at their disposal and want to take advantage.  Though this may seem bad, it is actually good because I get to learn, which is why I am there.  Some of these "tasks" that we have been assigned are so beyond me.  I have no idea how to do them or what they are talking about.  School has not even begun to teach me the things I need to know to work in media in the "real world."  Hopefully I will begin to build the required knowledge base this summer.
I have been so busy that I haven't even had time to talk to any of my friends.  I am, of course, meeting new people but nothing beats a familiar voice.  I need to take some time out this week and make some phone calls.  Surprisingly, I have talked to Maddie more than anyone and she is in Spain!!
